Flash Holo-Video Game

Submitted for a Motion Award 2023.
Collaborative.
I coordinated, directed and  took part in the design, animation and compositing of elements (titles, UI, explosion, laser effects, and comp.)
This was a POST PRODUCTION piece.

The Flash High Tech Transparent Screen

I designed and animated this piece in entirety.
The script called for a mysterious futuristic lab with very little context provided. The screen this piece was used for playback is a transparent glass screen. The areas that are black become transparent - and thus it needed a lot of contrast. This piece also had to loop, as with most PLAYBACK projects, which always poses an extra challenge!

Batwoman - Batmobile

I apologize for the audio.
I created the screens within the Batmobile (the orange and blue screens - the secondary white and black were created by Jessie my college.)
The car model was provided to us from production. The icons are a mix - some designed by me and some provided by production. I stylized and animated them.
The UI was 90% created by me. Some of it is loosely dictated by the look of the Batcave graphics created in season 1 which I helped develop with my colleague Fernando.

Animation by me.
This was c
reated for PLAYBACK.
LOOP-TRANSITION-LOOPs were created for each section.

Legends of Tomorrow Bowling

This PLAYBACK piece - though a simple piece, was a very challenging one. I designed the full piece. Background elements, UI, and fun cheesy animations. Each element of this had to be controlled live on set. In the end there were over 50 parts to this sequence. It was very fun and challenging.

Supergirl Alien Consol

This UI came to us partly created from Art Department. We had 1-2 screens with a few elements but no functionality. I collaborated with 1 other designer on this project where we create 15 other screens in this style that fit in the context of the script. The theme of these were retro-futuristic. In this episode alines came to earth from the future but everything was taking place in the late 1970s to early 1980s.
I created and animated about 75% of the UI generic elements. I developed the Pop-up notification and the animation of the language. I designed and animated the portal as well.
PLAYBACK LOOP-TRANSITION-LOOP

Another Life

The loop of the UI in this piece was designed by a colleague - Issac. My job was to make the elements fit in this context, reuse, and redesign elements to fit. I created the hero elements. The small ship was provided by production. I stylized it and added it to the context of this scene. The ship is caught in the wave of an explosion in space and they are travelling at a high speed to outrun it.

PLAYBACK LOOP-TRANSITION-LOOP

Batwoman Dog Takeover

We had a modeller provide a semi-rigged dog head. I did a bit of the rigging myself, and then used MOVES by MAXON to animate the face.

This process includes shooting a video of myself reading the script and using the data from the spacial information to connect nodes to drive the parts of the face in C4D.
You can see my process on the "Speaking Engagements" section of my website.
I added the animated head in multiple phones and TV formats for PLAYBACK.

Legends Of Tomorrow Transparent Screen

This piece is viewable in my main reel in action for PLAYBACK. Parts of the style of the main UI are set as these sets are reoccurring through multiple seasons. I made them fit into the context of this scene, and modified them as needed. The main brain "hero" portion was designed and animated by me. Each section has to loop in a
LOOP-TRANSITION-LOOP format for each section This sequence had approximately 12 executable parts.

Supergirl Containment Unit Breach

This PLAYBACK piece was a combination of collaborative design and animation. The look of the UI had been created as it was a reoccurring set in the show. I stylized theHERO containment unit using a Cinema 4D to After Effects work flow. The phantom was created using a Mixamo to After Effects workflow. The animation is achieved using a 3D camera in After Effects.

You can also see how I made this piece in my Speaking Engagements page of my website.

Legends Of Tomorrow Cloner

This PLAYBACK piece was designed and animated by me. The male model is stock, and the ROBO model was provided by production. I stylized both models using a combination of C4D and Element 3D and some quick effective tricks in After Effects.
The UI elements were dictated by a reoccurring set, however it was my task to make them fit within this context. Redesigning, creating new elements etc. This piece had an executable
LOOP-TRANSITION-LOOP for each section.

The Flash Cortex Monitor

This piece was collaborative. The overall look was set, but my job was to create the first control page with deactivation buttons. I designed and animated the buttons to fit in the style of this set. I animated the transition to the Cortex model (model provided by production and the look was created for a previous scene by a colleague - Matt). I made it fit in this context. I designed and animated the bars on the right hand side.

The Hollow

I worked with a team of talented compositing and VFX artists at Blatant Studio on Season 1 of The Hollow.

My duties there were to take animations from Adobe Animate, separate out all of the necessary layers, bring those into Adobe After Effects and add glow, blur, atmosphere, lighting - all of the effects you can not do in Animate. We worked to make our shots look cohesive with one another.
Often, getting the layers to cooperate in Animate was the most challenging part!

You can check out the preview and further information about The Hollow on Blatant's website.
